Bringing intelligence to escalators
Different things being used every day are getting more and more interconnected and with the advent of 5G technologies, they are becoming more capable of communicating with each other. Take for example, escalators. They are continually operated on an everyday basis and yet they still break down randomly. If an RaimaDB were added to them, they could become much more intelligent.
Edge analytics
Every escalator could start maintaining statistics such as frequency of load, load amount, last maintenance, speed, etc. This information could be stored within the RaimaDB engine efficiently and quickly. Then when connectivity is given to the escalator, the data could be replicated up to a larger and more powerful cloud-based system where various types of business intelligence and analytics could be done. Preventative maintenance could easily be decided upon, preventing the need for as many sudden shutdowns and repairs done at random hours of the day.
Database for intelligent escalators
Due to the low requirements of the RaimaDB system, the escalators would only need a very low powered CPU, some sub 500kb amount of RAM and a small amount of storage space. RaimaDB automatically encodes and compresses the data and then handles all the necessary ACID compliance to ensure the data is never lost.
